With the unique challenges you face regarding where to live, you should hire someone who has experience working with medical and surgical residents. I am one of only a handful of Certified DRS AgentsTM in the state of Alabama. DRS Network is the preferred provider of real estate services for the AMA, AMSA, AOA, and SOMA, among others. With this experience, I can help you:
- Acclimate to the area. Being a lifetime resident, I can show you around and help you learn Birmingham, its neighborhoods, churches, and restaurants. I’m happy to give you a tour of the city.
- Understand the process of buying a home. Almost 40 percent of my career sales have been first-time homebuyers, which many of you are. I truly enjoy teaching clients about the homebuying process. There are no stupid questions.
- Find the right lender and loan product. I have great relationships with multiple lenders and know where to find loan products that cater to physicians.
- Identify good resale potential over short time frames. I can help identify properties with higher resale potential than others so you’ll be better positioned to sell in 3-5 years if you need to.
- Identify Convenient Areas. I know you don’t want to drive far and can help identify neighborhoods with shorter drives for those nights when you’re on call.
- Navigate through the decision to rent or buy. I can help you weigh the differences (financially and otherwise) between renting and buying—buying is not always the best option.
- Find properties that aren’t on the market yet. An agent who works with incoming residents begins to get listings from outgoing residents which are in the target price and area for incoming residents. I usually know about several of these upcoming listings at any given time. Make sure to sign up for my mailing list for notifications of new and upcoming listings.
